Z-Coin Hybrid Consensus Model
Z-Coin uses an innovative hybrid consensus mechanism combining both Proof-of-Stake (PoS) and traditional Proof-of-Work (PoW) mining, with the public allocation split equally between both models:
- 50% of public Z-Coin allocation available through traditional mining operations
- 50% of public Z-Coin allocation dedicated to PoS rewards
- Transaction validation rewards for stakers (minimum 50+ ZCN)
- Governance participation rewards for both miners and stakers
- Network security incentives distributed across both consensus methods
- Progressive mining difficulty that increases every 210,000 blocks
- Block reward halving mechanism similar to Bitcoin's model
